Summary

Through blood and sacrifice, Amora Montara has conquered a rebellion and taken her rightful place as queen of Visidia。 Now, with the islands in turmoil and the people questioning her authority, Amora cannot allow anyone to see her weaknesses。

No one can know about the curse in her bloodline。 No one can know that she’s lost her magic。 No one can know the truth about the boy who holds the missing half of her soul。

To save herself and Visidia, Amora embarks on a desperate quest for a mythical artifact that could fix everything―but it comes at a terrible cost。 As she tries to balance her loyalty to her people, her crew, and the desires of her heart, Amora will soon discover that the power to rule might destroy her。

OK so before I go into my thoughts on the book, my ONE recommendation for any about to embark on this journey, with these characters, after a 2yr, too long wait。。。 REREAD the 1st book。 Or be daring like me and don't ahaha。 This book came 2 years after the originals released and so I forgot everything that happened and me being the stupid person that I am and how I write ny reviews I didn't leave myself not a hint nor a clue as to what the hell to expect/anticipate! Talk about living on the edge! Anyway, regardless of the fact that I didn't remember anything from book one , I still dove right into the world and found myself immersed back into this vibrant world full of different magics that I got to relearn! Overall, I loved the book! I am happy with its conclusion although Adalyn did things to my heart with that ending。 I so wish she didn't do it but that epilogue filled some of the gaping holes she left in my heart。But I guess all is fair in love and fiction。 I shouldn't have been surprised but I still was。 I will saw Amora pissed me off in this book。 More than I expected。 Like her grief was a bit too all consuming in this book and she was making stupid decisions。 But s/o to Ferrick and Bastian for always providing good counsel。 And Vatea and Chanti too。 Lest not forget about those two bada**women。Overall I give it 4 stars。 。。。more

I loved this so stupid much。 Maybe I have a thing for pirate stories and sailing the sea。 The main character, Amora, has flaws but they're not shied away from。 And it's my favorite side character who saves the day at the end and also GUTS ME COMPLETELY。 5 stars。 Loved this。 I loved this so stupid much。 Maybe I have a thing for pirate stories and sailing the sea。 The main character, Amora, has flaws but they're not shied away from。 And it's my favorite side character who saves the day at the end and also GUTS ME COMPLETELY。 5 stars。 Loved this。 。。。more

I absolutely loved being back in this world with these amazing characters! This was just as big if not bigger of an adventure and that ending! So gut wrenching! This was such an immersive, fast, cannot put down kind of book that I cannot wait to see what Adalyn writes next!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 As much as I loved the first book, All the Stars and Teeth, I have to say that I love this one more of the duology。 I was rooting for Amora and Bastian the whole time, for Ferrick and Vataea to admit their feelings for each other but what I wasn’t expecting was to cry。 This is the first book in a long time that I cried at。 My heart broke at the end but I love this book and the story it tells all the same and I’m glad that I picked this series up。 It’s reminded me why I love reading。 The world bu As much as I loved the first book, All the Stars and Teeth, I have to say that I love this one more of the duology。 I was rooting for Amora and Bastian the whole time, for Ferrick and Vataea to admit their feelings for each other but what I wasn’t expecting was to cry。 This is the first book in a long time that I cried at。 My heart broke at the end but I love this book and the story it tells all the same and I’m glad that I picked this series up。 It’s reminded me why I love reading。 The world building and magic system is one of my favorite。 I wish I could go back and read them again for the first time。 。。。more

This was pretty good but I'll be honest the 1st one was better。 This was extremely hard to get through for me I don't really know why it was pretty slow in some parts and it was just really frustrating to get through。 By the end of it I was just annoyed of the main character but it was a good ending。 This was pretty good but I'll be honest the 1st one was better。 This was extremely hard to get through for me I don't really know why it was pretty slow in some parts and it was just really frustrating to get through。 By the end of it I was just annoyed of the main character but it was a good ending。 。。。more

To say I loved the duology is an understatement。 My expectations were high after just reading All the Stars & Teeth。 But I’m happy to say this book did not let me down。 The world building an complexity of the different magics is honestly brilliant。 It continued and flowed on from the beginning of the story。 This gives you everything you need in a young adult book。 A story of sacrifice, determination and loyalty。 Without just coasting over the pain and grief。 I definitely recommend this duology。 To say I loved the duology is an understatement。 My expectations were high after just reading All the Stars & Teeth。 But I’m happy to say this book did not let me down。 The world building an complexity of the different magics is honestly brilliant。 It continued and flowed on from the beginning of the story。 This gives you everything you need in a young adult book。 A story of sacrifice, determination and loyalty。 Without just coasting over the pain and grief。 I definitely recommend this duology。 As I said in my All the Stars & Teeth review: mermaids, sea monsters, magic and fighting for a kingdom。 What more could you need?! 。。。more

The main character Amora seemed a little out of character compared to the last book and I think that's because we had a jump from where the last book ended and could have used more information on what happened during that time。 The main conflict didn't seem very solid and was a little all over the place。 I did enjoy how the author ended it。 Reminded me of another book or TV show, but she actually went for it。 The main character Amora seemed a little out of character compared to the last book and I think that's because we had a jump from where the last book ended and could have used more information on what happened during that time。 The main conflict didn't seem very solid and was a little all over the place。 I did enjoy how the author ended it。 Reminded me of another book or TV show, but she actually went for it。 。。。more

i really did enjoy this book, but not as much as the first book。 i felt like there weren't really that many bastian and amora scenes because she does push him away during a lot of the book。 i really liked ferrick during this book。 the ending wasn't my favorite though。 i really did enjoy this book, but not as much as the first book。 i felt like there weren't really that many bastian and amora scenes because she does push him away during a lot of the book。 i really liked ferrick during this book。 the ending wasn't my favorite though。 。。。more

If you enjoyed the first book, you will love this one! I am so happy - this was better than I had expected and even more enjoyable than the first。 I really enjoyed the world building in All The Stars and Teeth and learning about the magic system。  From this sequel though, it's clear that the first novel only scratched the surface of the magical abilities, and this one really showed more of the intricacies and possibilities of what the magic could do。  It was also easier to jump into, without too If you enjoyed the first book, you will love this one! Yes! Amora really came into her own, rejecting many things placed on her, maturing her response to things, and really learning from her experiences and people around her。 This is such a big plus for me and I found myself rooting even harder for Amora and her friends。 The ending had my heart hurting which is a sure indication of how much I connected with the characters。  Also romance! Yes! Enemies to lovers is a favorite, and while this is not exactly that, there is a good reluctance/spice to it that I really enjoyed。  The writing is such a wonderful experience and mix of action+adventure with a dark side and truly a mix of so many YA qualities。  There were description of loss and grief that were so vivid and well done, and also healing that really made you feel it。 。。。more

4。5 stars! I definitely like this one even more than the first book, Adalyn Grace did not disappoint when it came to her characters and their emotions and roles, her plot, and her even more flushed out magic in this book。 I was only slightly disappointed by how quick the ending was, but it was still pretty satisfying overall。 Honestly a really good duology, and I'll still be impressed that Adalyn was able to pack so much in such short books。 Full review to come! 4。5 stars! 3。5 starsThis book was good, but not as good as I was hoping。 I really enjoyed that it was a duology, but honestly it feels like it would have benefitted from a third book。 The ending felt rushed, and I often found myself flipping through the second half of the book being like "There's no way this book is ending the series。" It just felt like most of the twists didn't pack as much of a punch as they should've because I wasn't able to fully get lost in it。Speaking of which, and do not read this u 3。5 starsThis book was good, but not as good as I was hoping。 I really enjoyed that it was a duology, but honestly it feels like it would have benefitted from a third book。 The ending felt rushed, and I often found myself flipping through the second half of the book being like "There's no way this book is ending the series。" It just felt like most of the twists didn't pack as much of a punch as they should've because I wasn't able to fully get lost in it。Speaking of which, and do not read this unless you've read the book because it's a massive spoiler, but (view spoiler)[ I can't believe the author just basically Thanos-snapped Ferrick and none of the other crewmates are able to remember him。 (hide spoiler)] That took guts but WOW did it hurt me。 The sheer amount of balls it took to pull an ending like that, plus the fact that I actually laughed out loud for at several parts of the book is why I'm bumping it up to 3。5 stars。 Even though it took me a bit to remember what had happened in the first book (I'd recommend rereading it first, but if you're like me and read it recently enough to remember most of what happened but not some of the details, I'd recommend this webpage to help you remember), it still felt like coming home to a group of characters I love。 Literally, these are some of the best written characters I've ever read, and their dynamic flows well and is enjoyable。 I'd definitely recommend this book if you were a fan of the first one because it's still pretty good。 。。。more

3。5 starsMaybe it's just because it's been a couple of months since I read the first book and confused a lot of details with Fable instead, but it took me a long time to get back into this story。 Once I did though, I enjoyed it quite a bit! This is not how I thought I would feel about this book。 All the Stars and Teeth, the first book in this duology, was incredible! So, naturally I was stoked for All the Tides of Fate to be released this year。 I struggled with this book, not because it was bad but because it was mediocre compared to the first book。 I thought the story did an okay job of filling in bits that people would need to know if they had not read the first book。 However, the story just felt super slow and not as epic as the This is not how I thought I would feel about this book。 All the Stars and Teeth, the first book in this duology, was incredible! All the Tides of Fate | So, the second book was more fast paced but still felt at times that it was dragging along and predictable。 I understand Amora has a lot to deal with to rule the kingdom as she is the Queen。 But she constantly chooses not to let her friends help her along the way。 She takes that burden onto her shoulders and ends up causing more damage to her friends then she realises。 The story is well written and the ending is not what I expected。 I don’t want to give any spoilers away All the Tides of Fate | So, the second book was more fast paced but still felt at times that it was dragging along and predictable。 I understand Amora has a lot to deal with to rule the kingdom as she is the Queen。 But she constantly chooses not to let her friends help her along the way。 She takes that burden onto her shoulders and ends up causing more damage to her friends then she realises。 The story is well written and the ending is not what I expected。 I don’t want to give any spoilers away but I was expecting that sacrifice。 3/5* #bookstagram #adalyngrace #bookshelf #bookstory #romance #fantasy #bookblogger #allthestarsandteeth #amoramontara #bastianaltair 。。。more

It was difficult to finish and it was very different from the first book。While I do enjoy a grey character, it was a struggle to read and sympathize with Amora。 She was frustrating, repetitive and maybe I am insensitive but her constant struggle to come to terms with the last events were just so hard to swallow。 The plot as a whole was pretty interesting and it kept me on my toes。 I do think that some parts were a little bit far fetched but it was entertaining。 The ending left me feeling kind of It was difficult to finish and it was very different from the first book。While I do enjoy a grey character, it was a struggle to read and sympathize with Amora。 She was frustrating, repetitive and maybe I am insensitive but her constant struggle to come to terms with the last events were just so hard to swallow。 The plot as a whole was pretty interesting and it kept me on my toes。 I do think that some parts were a little bit far fetched but it was entertaining。 The ending left me feeling kind of weird。 While it was somewhat unexpected, I surely didn't want it to end like that, it felt just a bit anticlimactic。Do I feel like this was a little of a filler book? I adored this book just as much as the one before it。 The characters feel so real and it's just so moving。 The guilt and grief that Amora is dealing with in this book is so poignant and visceral and well shown and handled。 I know some of her waffling on Bastian and the choices she had through the book could be seen as annoying but for once I found the relationship drama to be understandable especially as she's learning to deal with her emotions and grief and anger and let others help。I will neve I adored this book just as much as the one before it。 The characters feel so real and it's just so moving。 The guilt and grief that Amora is dealing with in this book is so poignant and visceral and well shown and handled。 I know some of her waffling on Bastian and the choices she had through the book could be seen as annoying but for once I found the relationship drama to be understandable especially as she's learning to deal with her emotions and grief and anger and let others help。I will never stop crying over Ferrick though。 My sweet, caring, seasick boi, you are too pure for this world。 。。。more

2。5⭐️I think it’s hard to keep perfection going for 700 pages and that’s why book two fell short。 It just couldn’t live up to the incredible first of the duology。 I think it was an okay conclusion, and I was able to read it quickly without growing too bored。 I did some skimming though。 The creativity with the magic and the adventures were exciting enough。 My big problem with book two was this: I loved Amora in book one。 She was probably my favorite female character that I’ve read in a book。 Book 2。5⭐️I think it’s hard to keep perfection going for 700 pages and that’s why book two fell short。 It just couldn’t live up to the incredible first of the duology。 I think it was an okay conclusion, and I was able to read it quickly without growing too bored。 I did some skimming though。 The creativity with the magic and the adventures were exciting enough。 My big problem with book two was this: I loved Amora in book one。 She was probably my favorite female character that I’ve read in a book。 Book two - no。 I know she was dealing with trauma, but seriously, it didn’t even feel like I was reading about the same girl。 I was annoyed with her more than not。 It felt like she was creating drama where it wasn’t。 You don’t want to feel that way about your MC。 At least, I don’t。 Her internal monologues just didn’t feel authentic to me based on the character I had grown to love in book one。 I was soo disappointed。 The romance that I adored in book one has some major issues in book two that just aren’t very believable。Plus there’s a whole storyline that’s just never wrapped up - her aunt??
